If you have an LTIMindtree interview coming up, the first thing to know is that the company now operates as LTM Limited. Its board approved changing the name from LTIMindtree Limited to LTM Limited on 11 February 2026, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, according to the LTM press release announcing the new brand. A National Stock Exchange circular dated 10 April 2026 then changed the company's name in exchange records with effect from 17 April 2026. Careers portals, emails and documents may carry either name for a while, so the old name on its own is not a warning sign.
This guide uses what LTM's own talent acquisition team has published about its interview stages, then gives you practice questions with worked answers for each stage. The practice questions are written by us for preparation. They are not a leaked list of questions LTM is guaranteed to ask.
The interview stages LTM describes
In an article on the company website, LTM's talent acquisition team explains its recruitment journey. The article is not dated, so treat it as a description of the general approach rather than a promise about your specific opening. It describes these steps:
| Stage | What LTM says it looks at | What you should prepare |
|---|---|---|
| Application screening | Skills and experience, along with location, shift times, notice period and salary expectations | Consistent, honest answers on location, shifts, notice period and expected pay |
| Technical interview | How you apply knowledge and approach problems | Project walkthrough, fundamentals, thinking aloud while solving |
| Managerial interview | Collaboration, adaptability and leadership style; potential peers or leaders may join | Four or five true examples in STAR form |
| Customer interview (some roles only) | A client may assess technical skills and problem-solving | Explaining technical work in plain business language |
| HR interview | Work history, role, salary and career development | Dates, reasons for job changes, career plans |
| Pre-offer documentation and background verification | Identity proof, educational certificates and work experience records | A ready folder of originals and copies |
Two lines in that article are worth taking seriously. It calls interviews "structured conversations" and says that "real-world stories, thoughtful questions, and open dialogue" build trust better than prepared answers. In practice, memorised definitions will carry you less far than being able to explain what you actually did and why.
Keep preparing
Continue with Top 50 Interview Questions₹299 — coaching के एक महीने से काफ़ी सस्ता / far cheaper than a month of coachingWhat freshers should and should not assume
The LTM India careers page lists Students, Early Career and Experienced tracks and links to the company's job portals. When we checked on 9 October 2026, we did not find an official, public pan-India test pattern for fresher assessments on LTM's website. Third-party preparation sites publish patterns, but they disagree with each other on sections, timing and platforms.
Treat your assessment email or campus placement notice as the only reliable description of your test. If it does not tell you the sections or duration, ask your placement cell, or reply through the official channel that contacted you. Prepare broadly — aptitude, logical reasoning, verbal ability and basic coding — rather than for one unconfirmed pattern.
Practice questions for the technical round
"Walk me through your project."
This is the most predictable question in a services-company interview, and the easiest to underprepare. Use a five-part outline and keep it to about three minutes:
- The problem the project solved and who it was for.
- Your part, separated clearly from the team's.
- One design decision and why you made it.
- One thing that went wrong and how you fixed it.
- What you would change with more time.
Expect follow-ups on anything you mention. If you name a technology, be ready to explain how you used it.
"What is the difference between an abstract class and an interface in Java?"
A worked answer: an abstract class can hold state in instance fields, can have constructors, and can mix abstract and fully implemented methods, but a class can extend only one class. An interface defines a contract. Its fields are implicitly public, static and final; since Java 8 it can contain default and static methods, and since Java 9 private methods. A class can implement many interfaces. Choose an abstract class when related classes share state and code, and an interface when unrelated classes need to promise the same behaviour.
"Write a query for the second-highest salary."
SELECT MAX(salary) AS second_highest
FROM employees
WHERE salary < (SELECT MAX(salary) FROM employees);
Then explain the edge cases yourself. If every employee earns the same amount, the query returns NULL. Several people sharing the top salary does not break it, because the filter compares values rather than rows. Mentioning that a window function such as DENSE_RANK() generalises this to the nth-highest salary shows depth. For more runnable practice, see our SQL interview questions with a sample dataset.
"Check whether two strings are anagrams."
from collections import Counter
def is_anagram(a: str, b: str) -> bool:
return Counter(a) == Counter(b)
This runs in O(n) time. Before coding, ask whether case and spaces should be ignored; if so, normalise both strings first, for example with a.replace(" ", "").lower(). Asking that question out loud is exactly the "how you approach problems" behaviour the technical round is meant to reveal.
"Explain normalisation up to 3NF."
First normal form requires a single, atomic value in each column. Second normal form adds that no non-key column depends on only part of a composite key. Third normal form adds that no non-key column depends on another non-key column. Give a small example, such as moving a department's name out of an employee table into its own table keyed by department ID.
Practice questions for the managerial and customer rounds
"Tell me about a time you disagreed with a teammate." Choose a real, low-drama example. Describe the disagreement in one sentence, how you checked your own assumption, what you agreed on and the outcome. Avoid stories in which you were simply right and the other person was simply wrong.
"How do you handle a change in requirements late in a sprint?" A good answer shows that you surface the impact on time, risk and testing before agreeing, and that you confirm the new priority with whoever owns it.
"Explain to a client, in plain language, why a release is delayed." Practise a four-sentence structure: what is delayed, why in non-technical words, the new date and how confident you are in it, and what you need from the client. If a customer round is part of your process, this skill matters more than jargon.
Practice questions for the HR round
- "Are you comfortable with shift work or relocation?" Answer truthfully. The screening stage already considers location and shift times, so an answer you later reverse damages trust.
- "What is your notice period?" (experienced candidates) Give the contractual figure and any early-release possibility you have actually confirmed with your employer.
- "What are your salary expectations?" Give a researched range and say what it is based on. Our salary negotiation guide covers how to respond once an offer arrives.
- "Why LTM?" Connect something specific from the company website or the job description to your own skills. See our guide to answering "why do you want to work here?".
Worked example: a seven-day plan for an interview invitation
This plan is illustrative. Stretch or compress it to the time you actually have.
| Day | Task | Output to keep |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Read the job description and list the skills it names | A two-column sheet: skill and your evidence |
| 2 | Draft and time your project walkthrough | A three-minute outline |
| 3 | Revise OOP, DBMS and SQL; answer 15 questions aloud | A list of shaky topics |
| 4 | Solve four easy-to-medium string and array problems; state the complexity of each | Clean code with notes |
| 5 | Write four STAR stories: teamwork, conflict, failure, learning something fast | One-paragraph versions |
| 6 | Mock interview with a friend; rehearse HR answers | Feedback notes |
| 7 | Gather documents; test camera, microphone and internet if the interview is virtual | A ready folder and a working setup |
Watch out for fee demands
The LTM India careers page states that neither LTIMindtree nor its authorised recruitment agencies or partners charge candidates any registration fee, and that candidates must verify the credentials of any agency or consultant claiming to recruit for the company. If someone asks you to pay for an interview slot, a training kit or an offer letter, stop, and apply only through the official portals linked from that page.
Final checklist
- Confirm the round, date, time and mode from the official invitation.
- Prepare a three-minute project walkthrough you can defend line by line.
- Revise OOP, DBMS, SQL and the programming language you listed on your resume.
- Keep four or five true STAR stories ready for the managerial round.
- Decide honest answers on location, shifts, notice period and pay before the call.
- Keep identity, education and experience documents ready for background verification.
