Last checked against Wipro's official careers pages: 10 October 2026.
"Wipro recruitment process" means different things depending on who you are. A B.Tech graduate from a regional college, a student at a premier institute, a BCA graduate and an MBA student enter Wipro through different programmes, with different assessments and terms. So the first step is to identify your route. This guide maps Wipro's published early-career programmes, explains what you can reliably expect at each stage, and lists the red flags Wipro itself publishes for fake offers.
An earlier version of this article gave a test pattern, negative marking, backlog rules and a quote from an unnamed Wipro manager that we could not verify against Wipro's own pages. We removed them. If you see a precise test pattern elsewhere, check it against your official invitation.
Wipro's early-career programmes
Wipro's Early Careers page describes these routes:
| Programme | Who it is for, as Wipro describes it |
|---|---|
| Elite | Wipro's Technical Graduate Hiring Program for newly graduated engineers from across the country |
| Turbo | Technical hiring from 46 premier institutes, including IIITs, NITs and select top private colleges |
| STAR Hiring Program | Fast-track hiring from India's top 13 technical institutes |
| Wipro Integrated Learning Program (WILP) | BCA and B.Sc. graduates, who work full-time while pursuing a sponsored M.Tech degree |
| B-School Program | Students in two-year full-time MBA programmes at top business schools |
| Law School Program | Students from National Law Universities and other leading law schools |
| CA Hiring | Newly qualified chartered accountants, hired through ICAI-organised campus placements |
The page does not list which institutes fall under Turbo or STAR, so your placement cell is the place to confirm whether your college participates.

Here is how four fictional candidates would use the table above.
| Candidate | Qualification | Likely route | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meera | B.Tech (ECE), state private college, final year | Elite | Whether her college runs Elite on campus or she must apply to an off-campus drive; the current eligibility rules in the notice |
| Arjun | B.Tech (CSE), NIT, final year | Turbo, if his NIT is among the 46 institutes | His institute's participation, through the placement cell |
| Farah | BCA, graduating this year | WILP | The current WILP terms on the Wipro-linked application page |
| Rohit | MBA (Finance), two-year full-time | B-School Program | Whether Wipro recruits at his business school |
For WILP, the Early Careers page links to a Wipro application page hosted on Superset. Our article on Wipro fresher pay explains how to read the WILP stipend schedule published there, including why an older year's figures don't describe a new offer.
The stages, and what you can rely on
1. Application
Apply only through the careers site, your college's placement process or a link from an official Wipro page. Save the job or drive name, the date and your confirmation. Submitting a form is not the same as being invited to an assessment.
2. Assessment
Most technical graduate programmes include an online assessment, but Wipro's public pages do not publish one fixed pattern for every drive. Your invitation should state the sections, duration, platform and rules. Prepare broadly for aptitude, logical reasoning, written English and coding in one language, and adjust once you see the official details.
3. Interview
Wipro's fraud awareness page states that its hiring process involves at least one interview, virtual or in person, and that it will not request an interview through instant messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Telegram. For technical programmes, expect questions on your projects, programming fundamentals and the skills you listed, plus HR-style questions about relocation and your goals. Our practice set of Wipro interview questions and answers covers these in detail.
4. Offer and documents
Read the offer for the programme name, designation, location terms, any service agreement or training commitment, and the joining process. Ask questions in writing before you accept. Keep mark sheets, degree certificates and identity documents ready for verification.
Official red flags for fake Wipro offers
Wipro's fraud awareness page lists clear warning signs. A message is likely fake if it:
- comes from a public email ID rather than an address ending in "@wipro.com", or from unknown users on WhatsApp, Telegram or LinkedIn;
- asks for a deposit or any fee — Wipro says it does not charge any fee at any stage and has not authorised agencies to collect fees;
- requests bank account details, tax forms or credit card information as part of recruitment;
- claims to come from a senior Wipro official or "Wipro HR" but is full of spelling and grammar errors;
- invites you to an interview over an instant messaging app.
The page also says that all genuine Wipro emails to candidates contain a warning against recruitment fraud, and that a real Wipro advertisement carries its logo, a Wipro email ID and the URL of the Wipro careers page. Report suspicious messages to [email protected], as the page directs, and if you have paid money, lodge a complaint at the nearest police station.
Preparation timeline for a final-year engineering student
This is an illustrative eight-week plan for someone expecting an Elite-type assessment and interview.
| Weeks | Focus |
|---|---|
| 1–2 | Aptitude basics (percentages, ratios, time and work) and reasoning; 30 minutes of reading in English daily |
| 3–4 | Coding in one language: strings, arrays, simple recursion; one problem a day, timed |
| 5 | Short written practice: a 200-word email or essay on a familiar topic, checked for grammar |
| 6 | Project walkthrough and fundamentals (OOP, DBMS, operating systems) |
| 7 | HR answers: relocation, shifts, career goals; two mock interviews |
| 8 | Read the official invitation closely and adjust; organise documents |
Final checklist
- Identify your programme from Wipro's Early Careers page and confirm it with your placement cell.

- Prepare for the assessment broadly, then follow the official invitation's pattern.
- Expect at least one real interview — never one over WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Read the offer's programme, designation and any training commitment before accepting.
- Report any fee demand to Wipro's recruitment helpdesk.
