India Post GDS Cutoff 2026: Class 10 Merit Explained
India Post GDS has no written exam, so there is no exam cutoff. Candidates are shortlisted from a merit list built on their Class 10 marks, post by post and circle by circle. The effective cutoff for a post is the marks of the last candidate shortlisted for it, which you can read from the shortlisted-candidate lists on indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

How it works
Step-by-step
- Open indiapostgdsonline.gov.in and find the shortlisted-candidates list for your postal circle.
- Open the list and find the posts you applied for.
- Read the Class 10 marks of the candidates shortlisted for those posts; the lowest is the effective cutoff.
- Compare with your own marks and category to see how close you were.
- Watch the same portal for further shortlist rounds in the current cycle.
Why the GDS cutoff changes from post to post
Every Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster or Dak Sevak vacancy has its own applicants and category, so the marks needed differ by post office, division and circle. Last cycle's figure for one post office says little about another.
