Qualification: 10th pass (Matriculation) from a recognised board
Age limit (MTS): Typically 18-25 years
Age limit (Havaldar): Typically 18-27 years — higher than plain MTS

Selection process

Computer-Based Test — objective, common paper for all candidates.
Physical Efficiency Test / Physical Standards Test for Havaldar posts specifically.
Document verification, followed by the final merit list.
