Merit-based selection, no written exam

India Post GDS Previous Year Papers: There Is No GDS Exam

India Post GDS has no written exam, so there are no previous year papers. Gramin Dak Sevaks are shortlisted from a merit list on Class 10 marks, then called for document verification. Any "GDS question paper" sold online is not official.

Selection process

How India Post GDS selection works instead

  1. There is no written test for Branch Postmaster, Assistant Branch Postmaster or Dak Sevak posts. Candidates are ranked on their Class 10 marks.
  2. Shortlisted candidates are listed circle-wise on indiapostgdsonline.gov.in, round by round.
  3. Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification with their originals — mainly the Class 10 marksheet, ID and any category certificate the notice lists.
  4. Your chances depend on your Class 10 marks against other applicants for the same post, not on preparation, so be wary of anyone selling GDS papers or coaching.
