The recruitment process for the post of Research Officer in the A.P. Legislature Secretariat Service involves a written examination comprising two papers: Paper-I on General Studies & Mental Ability and Paper-II on Library & Information Science. Both papers are objective-type with negative marking (1/3rd penalty for each wrong answer). Candidates must hold a first-class degree in B.A., B.Sc., or B.Com. from a UGC-recognized university and a degree in Library Science. Preference is given to those with postgraduate qualifications in Political Science or Journalism. The syllabus includes topics such as Indian polity, current affairs, disaster management, library classification systems, information technology, and data analysis.
