Chinese tech, investments welcome, but trade opening needs caution: CII President

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) President R Mukundan has stated that while Chinese investments and technology are welcomed in India, a cautious approach is essential for trade relations. He emphasized the importance of reducing import dependence on China and enhancing domestic manufacturing capabilities. Mukundan pointed out potential areas for collaboration, such as battery storage and semiconductor chemicals, and highlighted the need for India to negotiate comparable tariff rates in ongoing trade talks with the US.
